The Urban Arts Academy was started 3 years ago to engage at risk youth in Wilmington who were taggers, tag-bangers and in gangs to give them a positive and productive outlet using graffiti arts. These youth have continued to learn various elements of graffiti and have completed murals within Wilmington and South Los Angeles. The youth are highly skilled and attend a formal training program developing their artistic, graphic design and editing skills. These youth are ready and willing to give back with their talents and provide a service, and become productive citizens, and show what they have learned in the past 3 years.
Urban Arts Printing is one of the services that this youth will be providing. Urban Arts Printing will be dedicated to promoting positive reinforcement for our current youth in the Urban Arts Academy, as well as providing a service to the community, partners, and other businesses in the local area. Our youth are capable of designing, and producing quality images, and screen prints to perform excellent service to our clients. This business will be an outlet, and will also provide an income for our young people.
We will work hard to build a reputation in the community, and with our clients. We will have the capacity to design logos, and images for shirt designs; we will also produce the screening on the shirts, whether it would be in mass or low production levels. This service will all be provided at competitive rates, which will put us in the market to contend with some of the more productive companies in the area. We will be screen printing such product as shirts, and sweaters in a two color design, meaning a background color of the selected material, and another color for the design.
As we continue to grow we will move into producing more apparel, and accessories such as hats, bags, and shoes. Our ultimate goal is to have a screen printing business covering all market needs. With our future goals we will also create a website that will allow the client to create their own custom designs, and place orders online. Urban Arts Printing is an exciting new venture, and will take Urban Arts Academy to new heights.
