How long is the training program?

3 months

Where are the classes at? At what time?

Classes are facilitated at Los Angeles Harbor College in Wilmington, CA. Classes are schedule from Monday to Thursday 6-9pm.

How do I get into the program?

SBCC has a 5 step recruitment process 1. Submit an Application 2. Interview 3. Assessment 4. Motivational Statement 5. Selection.Submit an online application/interest form at www.sbaycenter.com if the minimum qualifications are met, we will call you to schedule an interview.

What other benefits do I receive in this program?

A student support specialist (SSS) will assist you with any resources that can help you get through your training. The goal of the SSS is to help you become employable after the end of your training.

Once I am in the program, do I have to attend all the classes?

Yes! The program is based on a cohort model...We work as a team.

Am I guaranteed a job once I receive me certificate?

Jobs are not guaranteed. We will prepare you and give you direct access to employers that have partnered with the program; however, you will still need to meet their hiring requirements.

How can I get on a waitlist?

There is no waitlist. We only take interest forms when recruitment is open.

When will recruitment open?

Recruitment is based on the number of employments available from our refinery partners in order to enroll a class.

What are the steps to recruitment?

This is a short term training so it is a 2 step recruiting process: (1) Eligibility application (interest form) (2) Interview with staff. Be prepared to provide identification documentation.

Why can’t I enroll classes with Harbor College?

Classes are exclusive to the program. We will provide personal case management by a student support specialist to guide you during your training. This is not offered to the public but to those selected for the program.

Why can’t I access the interest form online?

The form will only be available during the recruitment period. The recruitment dates will be posted on this website.
