Wilmington Empowerment Project
Wilmington Empowerment Project (WEP) is a placed-based strategy for community empowerment and change. The mission of the project is to impact Wilmington in three primary areas: Educational outcome, economic development, and basic needs/family well-being. WEP is an asset-based community organizing model that engages and empowers residents to leverage their strengths and talents to change their neighborhoods and community institutions.
Program Goals:
- Increase youth and parent Neighborhood Action Councils (NACs)
- Increase families economic stability opportunities
- Develop community and business partnerships
- Support youth leadership and development
